Outfitting Dexter Bands

Creekside

5th and 6th grade students provide their own concert attire which includes a white top, black pants and black shoes.

Mill Creek

Middle School students will be issued a vest (7th) or blazer (8th) at Orientation in August. Students will provide their own white shirt, black pants, and black shoes to wear with the vest or blazer. A small fee will be due through Eleyo to cover the cost of annual dry cleaning.

Dexter High School

DHS Students are issued a Marching Band and concert uniform during a scheduled fitting session.

ALL students (both new and returning, even if you reserved your uniform from last year) are required to sign up for a fitting day. On this day, students will be fitted for their marching and concert uniforms and will be purchasing/ordering their uniform accessories (gloves, spats, cords, and concert attire).

We will be offering two uniform options this year!
Concert Option 1: Suit Jacket + Tux Pants (school owned), White Button Down Shirt (Eleyo), Bow Tie + Cummerbund (Eleyo), and Black Dress Shoes + Black Dress Socks (self purchased).
Concert Option 2: Your choice of dress, skirt + top, or dress pants + top from DeMoulin Bros. and Co. (ordered here), and Black Dress Shoes (self purchased). Guidelines for attire: dress/skirt/pants must be floor length, and dress or top must have some length of sleeve (i.e., nothing sleeveless).

Important Concert Option 2 Notes:
o Students who wish to check out a black uniform skirt (school owned) instead of purchasing a new one may do so. In this case, they must still provide/purchase their own black top (ordered here).
o If you feel you already own items that fit the standards of the pieces for sale by DeMoulin, you may submit them for approval by the Uniform Managers.
o IMPORTANT: All non-school owned concert apparel must be brought with you and approved DURING YOUR UNIFORM FITTING, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Fitting dates and times:

  • Monday, August 5th 5:00-8:30pm
  • Tuesday, August 6th 9:00-11:00am; 5:00-8:00pm

Select one fitting slot per student and write the student’s name and grade in the comment section. We have a lot of students to fit and your student will have the best fitting experience and selection by attending one of these times. If you are truly unable to make any of these fitting times/days work, please let us know as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made.

Important Fitting Day Details:

  • A fitting takes approximately 45 minutes. Please be ON TIME to help things run smoothly.
  • Wear a lightweight top and shorts, no jeans or cargo shorts. Uniforms will be fitted over the clothing that is worn as there are NO dressing rooms.
  • Bring concert and marching shoes. Appropriate shoes are necessary for measuring proper hem length, particularly for marching uniforms.
  • Ladies must bring their purchased concert uniform for approval or pay the concert uniform fee, if you intend to use a school owned skirt. Your marching band uniform will be held until inspection of the concert attire has occurred.

Payment must be made at the time of fitting. No payment = no uniform.

A parent or guardian is strongly encouraged to accompany his/her student to the fitting. Payments must be made at the time of the fitting through Eleyo using your phone, so be prepared to log in to Eleyo during the fitting. We cannot accept cash or checks. If you have any financial concerns, please contact Ms. Wolfe.
(Please note, the Eleyo payment option will not be available until the first day of the fitting, as payment is to be made AT the fittings – NOT at home beforehand.)

Costs: Total cost will be calculated at the fitting, but individual items are priced below:

Uniform Fee: (this covers the cost of dry cleaning, alterations, and repairs; nonrefundable; EVERY band
member pays this fee)

  • $22 – Marching uniform/Color Guard
  • $22 – Concert uniform (if using school-owned items

Uniform Pieces: (you will be informed at the fitting which pieces are needed)

  • Spats $12 (everyone, except flags)
  • Gloves $5 (everyone, except percussion and flags)
  • Squad Leader Cord $18 (if applicable)
  • Drum Major Cord $40 (if applicable)
  • Tux Shirt (boys only) $20
  • Tie and Cummerbund (boys only)
    o Gold/Black Bow Tie and Cummerbund set (Varsity) $22
    o Red/Black Bow Tie and Cummerbund set (Concert) $22
    o Black Bow Tie and Cummerbund set (Symphonic) $13
  • Concert Bottoms and Blouse (girls only) – price dependent on style chosen
    **Each band (Varsity, Concert, Symphonic) has a different color tie/cummerbund. So, returning students, if you are in a different band this year, you will need to purchase a new tie and cummerbund (or borrow from a friend or sibling).
    Alterations will be provided at no extra charge. Students who need alternations will receive their uniform in class once alternations are completed.
