Schools Unite to Create Beautiful Music

On April 17, the Saline Area Schools Music Department hosted a wonderful Collaboration Concert combining the talents of the Dexter High School Symphonic Band and and Saline High School Wind Ensemble. Family and friends gathered at the Ellen A. Ewing Performing Arts Center for this special event.

The DHS Symphonic Band, under the direction of Ms. Grace Wolfe, began the concert with three selections from their spring repertoire. The SHS Wind Ensemble followed with Conductor, Mr. Nathaniel Lampman, performing three musical pieces as well.

The high point of the evening was the finale when both ensembles took the stage together! The combined bands performed “Galop,” by Dmitri Shostakovich, directed by Ms. Wolfe.

Dexter Bands appreciates the warm hospitality provided to our students by Saline and is thankful for this opportunity to collaborate.

From Hornet to Dreadnaught – Student to Colleague: Ms. Wolfe shared the podium
with her high school band director! She is a graduate of Saline High School and Mr. Lampman
was her band director.
